What will I be doing in this course?
This course is designed as an introduction to Marine Science and is a useful background for a number of Post-School courses as well as careers in Marine Related Industries. Students develop an appreciation and knowledge of the Marine Environment both as a Natural Resource and potential career path. There is an optional Scuba Diving course Years 11 & 12.

• Job prospects – the Marine and Tourism Industries are among the fastest growth areas in Australia.
Marine Studies is an exciting and enjoyable course with an emphasis towards practical rather than theory, as well as excursions and Industry Related Certificates. An increasing number of students are finding employment in the marine industry.
What else do I need to know?
• $400.00 approx. for diving course (optional)
• The diving course is a popular but not compulsory part of Marine Studies.
• Please note that some students each year fail to pass the dive medical examination (eg, asthma) and cannot do the dive course. They can still continue to study Marine Studies.
